Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture

Elie Saab's Spring 2014 Couture show entitled “The Promise of Spring” really made me swoon. The collection's color palette was based on the work of Sir Lawrence Alma- Tadema whose paintings of beautiful languid women from the Romain Empire lounging on marble furniture have been college dorm room poster fodder for generations of girls. Of course, the elaborate embellishments and three dimensional fabric blooms which is Saab's trademark were seen on the latest show but what made a lot of people more excited was when a few equally stunning well-draped plain designs appeared on the runway. Overall the collection was really great and just right now I'm already assuming that we will be seeing a lot of pieces from this collection in the red carpet of the upcoming Oscars. What do you guys think?
