To Beard Or Not To Beard?

Beards were one of the biggest trends of the last 12 months. In fact, celeb men from Jamie Dornan to Matthew McConaughey have been seen sporting a beard in the last year. And girls seem to love a man with a wealth of facial hair! But beards don’t always work for all men. After all, they still require a lot of maintenance to still look amazing. Here are some things you should consider before you decide to rock a beard.
Would it suit your face shape?
The first thing you should consider is whether it will suit your face shape. After all, beards don’t look right on everyone. And if your face is on the slim side, it might be too much for your small features. There is plenty of advice online about what kind of beards will look right for your face shape. For example, if you have a rectangular face, most sites recommend growing a beard which is fuller on the sides rather than the length. And if you have a square face, you are better off with a longer beard. Therefore, make sure you opt for the right beard for your face before you regret your decision.
Would you keep on top of taking care of it?
One thing which can put people off about beards is the care that needs to be taken to keep on top of it. After all, you will have to make sure it doesn’t overgrow so that it becomes a style fail. And you will have to get items like beard oils and brushes to keep it in good shape. Also, you will need a good beard trimmer to keep it in good nick; you might even want to try these out to ensure it stays in good condition. And on top of all this, you will have to ensure the skin underneath the beard stays looking perfect. As we said before, you need to make sure it’s properly hydrated, so you don’t run into issues. If you don’t have the time to do all of the above, it might be worth sticking to clean shaven instead!
How would you style the beard?
Another thing you should consider is how you might style a beard if you decide to grow one. Some people opt for beards which are much longer than their chin level. While other people go for something a lot less full, similar to Gerard Butler’s style. And some guys even opt to go for a different color beard to their natural hair color. Therefore, look into your options before you decide to go with the flow of growing a beard. Of course, every man is different, and you might be unable to grow a long beard. In fact, it might come out patchy which won’t look attractive!
And remember that if you are a messy eater, a beard might not be for you! After all, there’s nothing worse than a beard full of leftover food! In fact, it will put girls off you when you are on the pull!
